We are delighted to share the news that that on Wednesday 1 March 2017 the Trio Isimsiz won 2nd Prize at the 7th International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition in Vienna, along with a special prize for the best interpretation of a work by Haydn.
The President of the Jury was Avedis Kouyoumdjian (pianist), and the jury included Birgit Erichson (cellist Abegg Trio), Jensenhorn Sin Lam (violist and founder of Atelier für Kammermusik), Michael Lethiec (clarinettist and artistic director of Pablo Casals Festival), Johannes Meissl (Artis Quartet), Natalia Prischepenko (formerly Artemis Quartett) and Gottlieb Wallisch (pianist / Philharmonic Ensemble Vienna).
The Trio Isimsiz return to Aldeburgh Festival in Snape Maltings on Sunday 18 June at 2.00 pm in a programme of two towering but contrasting Russian works with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra: Tchaikovsky’s Piano Trio in A minor and Stravinsky’s Petrushka. In August they make their debut in a series of concerts in China. Future engagements include return visits to Wigmore Hall (Coffee Concert) and the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival.
