YCAT launches Sounding Board

28th September 2016

YCAT is delighted to announce the launch of Sounding Board, a new branch of YCAT’s work supporting and developing young artists. Sounding Board is comprised of career development seminars, individual coaching sessions and long-term project mentoring.

Seminars and Workshops: Engaging and provocative seminars and workshops covering a wide range of topics and open to anyone within the performing industry. Sessions will take the form of expert panel discussions, followed by questions and networking, and will cover topics such as ‘Do I need an agent?’, ‘Managing your career online’ and ‘Health and wellbeing for performers’.

Individual Coaching: 50 minute individual coaching sessions for graduate musicians and students approaching the end of their formal study. These sessions are an opportunity to benefit from the knowledge and expertise YCAT has used to help launch the careers of many musicians. Specifically, Individual Coaching sessions provide a confidential space for participants to reflect on their professional progress and consider any bigger questions regarding career development.

Project Mentoring: 4 to 6 month project mentoring for artists with a clear and passionate vision for a project. Project Mentoring is an opportunity for artists to receive prolonged guidance and support to realise a specific artistic project. YCAT will guide participants through relevant aspects of project management, such as budgeting, fundraising, promotion, marketing, and any other topics required.

YCAT is grateful for support from Sounding Board’s key partners: Arts Council England, the Rachel Baker Memorial Charity, Help Musicians UK and The Musician’s Company.
