Castalian Quartet win third prize at Banff

The Castalian Quartet, selected at the 2016 YCAT Auditions, has been awarded third prize in the prestigious Banff International String Quartet Competition.

The Quartet come home with prize money of $8,000 and a fully funded creative residency at The Banff Centre’s Music program including coaching and mentoring opportunities with established artists.

The competition was won by the Rolston String Quartet, with second prize awarded to the Tesla Quartet. The Castalian Quartet were the only European group to reach the live auditions.
